Goals and progress
Reading: main ideaMain idea · Supporting detailsOn track
Every goal is measured against its own baseline and target, so progress is a number on a chart, not an impression.
Defensible
Every figure traces back to dated observations: who recorded them, when, in what setting, and with how much prompting.
Consistent
The same measures, the same layout and the same standard for every student, every educator and every school.
Ready to share
A polished PDF, made on your phone, ready to send to colleagues, administrators and families.
Student progress report
All of a student's goals, progress and data collection, over the dates you choose.
Goal report
One goal on its own: its skills, benchmarks, progress and data.
Goal completion report
A finished goal's outcome, with every observation from its run.
Your staff report
Your own work across your caseload, as a PDF of its own.
For educators
Everything your caseload needs, in your pocket.
Built for the resource room, the hallway and the five minutes between sessions.
Goals written to a standard
A guided goal builder takes you through the seven parts of a measurable goal, starting from a real baseline.
Bring in the IEP you have
Keep a signed IEP's goal word for word. Blume adds a way to measure it, shows what's missing, and lists what to raise at the next team meeting.
Your day, planned for you
Set a goal's schedule once and Blume plans every observation. Home opens on what's due today, with reminders beside it.
Data in the moment
Ten ways to measure, from accuracy and frequency to duration and time on task, with prompting and setting recorded alongside. It saves even with no signal.
See where everyone stands
Each student's page says where they are today, which goals are on track, and what to try next. Analytics shows your whole caseload.
Private notes and reminders
Quick notes and to-dos that are yours alone, never shared with your team, and searchable when you need them.
Expert answers, and your questions never leave your phone.
Ask about baselines, goals, accommodations and data collection, or about a student on your caseload. Ask Allan answers from the Blume Method's own guidance with an AI model built into the app, entirely on your phone.

Ask Allan
How do I write a baseline?
The Blume Method writes every baseline in three steps:
Take the data, with several methods, over time.
Interpret it across time, such as eight observations across two months.
Write it with the frame "Data for this baseline are based on…", then report what the data show: "It was documented that…"

The method behind it
45 years of getting goals right, in every step.
Allan Blume has spent more than 45 years in special education. The Blume Method, his practical formulas and sentence frames for writing baselines and goals and for collecting data, makes every IEP measurable and consistent from one building to the next, without losing the student at its center.
Blume Notebook carries that method through every step, so a goal written on your phone holds to the same standard as one written with Allan in the room.

For districts
One standard for goals and data, across every caseload.
A team workspace gives your district consistent, defensible data for every student, and a clear view of how they're progressing, school by school. And your educators may already be using it.

Program insights in Blume Admin
Know what the Blume Method has done for your program.
Blume Admin reads every goal and observation your team records and keeps a running account of your program: how well goals are written, how far students have come, and where to look next. There's nothing to assemble at the end of the year.

Is the program working?
The share of goals improved since baseline, the typical gain in each skill area, goals met and on pace to be met, and how much faster the same goals have improved since they came into Blume than in the data recorded before.
Are goals written to the standard?
Every running goal is checked against the Blume-aligned standard, including a baseline drawn from at least three data points, with pass rates by school and by educator.
Which students need more support?
Students with a goal falling behind, observations overdue, and anyone not observed in 30 days, each a tap away from their full record.
Where is practice strongest?
Schools and educators compared on goal quality, on observing as scheduled and on the completeness of their data, so you can see whose practice to share and who would benefit from support.

Every figure explains itself
Each chart carries a note on what it shows and exactly how it's worked out, so you can stand behind it when someone asks.
Ready for the people you report to
Export any breakdown as a spreadsheet, and share a student's progress or an educator's work as a PDF, for your superintendent, your board or a family.
Change you can point to
Growth from baseline, behaviors reduced and less prompting needed, measured the same way in every school.
Students stay with the district
Students belong to your team, so their goals and history follow them from caseload to caseload. Educators can share a student, with one record between them.
The same standard everywhere
Every goal written to the Blume Method's seven parts, and every observation in the same measures, in every building.
Results across the program
The share of goals improved since baseline by school, grade and skill area, and how often skills are shown in general education classrooms. Groups under five students are never shown.
Everyone in, simply
Invite staff by email, or let anyone with your district's verified email address join on their own. Set access levels, roles and schools.
Reports and exports
Progress and staff reports as PDFs, and your staff, students, goals and observations as spreadsheets, every export kept in the team's history.
Run it your way
No student limit. Manage your team on Blume's web app, or from Blume Admin, the companion app for administratorsComing soon
Moving a student in is one way and all or nothing: every goal and observation arrives, or nothing does. If your team already has a student with that state ID, the move stops so nothing is duplicated, and your admins can turn moves off.
Bring Blume to your district.
Tell us about your schools and we'll set up your team workspace.
Yes, for every educator: your own workspace and every feature, Ask Allan included, with no card and no trial. A personal workspace holds up to 10 students. If you need more room, ask from the app and we'll raise it. Districts that want a shared team workspace can talk to us.
Is Ask Allan really confidential?
Yes. It answers on your phone, from the Blume Method's guidance built into the app. Your questions, and any students you name, are never sent anywhere to be answered, and Ask Allan's screens are never recorded. We only count that a question was asked, never what it was.
Is there a limit on how much I can ask?
No. Ask as many questions as you like, as often as you like, at no cost. Typed questions work in airplane mode too. Asking out loud uses your phone's own on-device speech recognition.
Does it work without a signal?
Yes, for the everyday work. Observations save with no connection and sync when you're back online, and Ask Allan answers typed questions offline. Signing in, inviting colleagues and moving students need a connection.
Which phones does it run on?
iPhone and Android.
What happens to my students if my district joins Blume?
You can move each student, with every goal and observation, into your district's team workspace in a few taps. Nothing needs re-entering, and from then on the student's record stays with the district.
Who can see my notes?
Your notes and reminders are private to you. They're kept on your own account and never shared with your team.
